What Does A Project Look Like?

We start with a requirements document. This is a list of features, user scenarios, and functionality that must be included in the final product. We often add other desired functionality that fall into the "nice to have" category.

We take this requirements document and write up a functional specification. This is a technical document that outlines how everything will be built. If we were building a house, this would be the blueprints and wiring and plumbing diagrams.

Our programming process is iterative and interactive. We include the client in the process as much as possible, showing the pieces as they come together. This helps ensure that the product matches the customer’s expectations, and reduces overall development time because changes can be integrated during the development cycle, rather than waiting for a review and changes at the end of programming phase.

Finally, we will deploy and launch the web service, usually on our own servers. The site will be made “mostly live,” with time for last minute tweaks and testing. When the site is ready, we pull a lever and the site goes live!
